With The Bulkington Silver Band
In April 1986 the Band became the Fourth section champions of the South Midlands and East Anglia area, and were promoted to the Third Section. 1987 The Band became Third Section Champions, with consequent promotion to the Second Section. 1988 Area Championships the Band was promotion to Championship Section.
This was a great time for Gary and the Band.
In 1977 Gary went to Radio Birmingham with another local band. Gary achieved success at the Birmingham Association Contest which is now know as The West Midlands and Northampton Associations.
They achieved well at Pontins Contest 1977 and 1978.
He also had successive in two finals at the West Midlands Contest. 1997 they won the Area Championship by 4 clear points and were promoted to the Championship Section.
Gary then went to Bedworth Band where they won numerous contest, 2nd Area Champions and 3rd.
In 1995 left due to ill health.
